CGIAR

Die 1971 gegründete Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) (deutsch: Beratungsgruppe für Internationale Agrarforschung) ist eine Allianz aus Staaten, internationalen Institutionen und privaten Stiftungen, die 15 internationale Forschungseinrichtungen ("Future Harvest Centres") unterstützen. Diese Forschungseinrichtungen arbeiten mit verschiedenen nationalen Agrarforschungsinstitutionen zusammen. Auf die Arbeitsergebnisse dieser Institutionen ist unter anderem die Grüne Revolution zurückgegangen.

Die 15 Future Harvest Centres mit ihren Forschungsschwerpunkten und ihrem jeweiligen Sitz:

Das International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) vergleicht in einem Welthunger-Index die Lage von 119 Entwicklungsländern und osteuropäischen Transformationsstaaten in den letzten 25 Jahren, um den politischen Willen gegen Hunger zu stärken.
