Baron Killanin, of Galway in the County of Galway, ist ein erblicher britischer Adelstitel in der Peerage of the United Kingdom, welcher von der Familie Morris geführt wird.

Verleihung

Der Titel wurde im Jahre 1900 für den irischen Rechtsanwalt und Politiker Michael Morris geschaffen. Dieser war Lord Chief Justice of Ireland und anschließend Lordrichter gewesen.

Weitere Titel

Der erste Baron war als Lordrichter 1889 bereits zum Peer auf Lebenszeit als Baron Morris, of Spiddal in the County of Galway, ernannt worden. Dieser Titel, der aufgrund des Appellate Jurisdiction Act 1876 geschaffen worden war, erlosch mit seinem Tode.

Dagegen wird die ihm 1885 verliehene Würde eines Baronets, die zur Baronetage des United Kingdom gehört, noch heute vom jeweiligen Baron getragen.
