Deep Space Hibernation

Deep Space Hibernation ist eine Tiefschlafphase für Raumsonden. Für eine bestimmte Zeit werden alle Instrumente, bis auf die wichtigsten, abgeschaltet, um so Energie zu sparen und die Missionsdauer zu verlängern.
Die Raumsonde Rosetta der ESA befindet sich zur Zeit in dieser Phase auf dem Weg zu ihrem Ziel, dem Kometen 67P/Tschurjumow-Gerasimenko.
