Das Carbohydrate-Antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) ist ein in der Onkologie als Tumormarker verwendetes Glykoprotein.

Etwa 5% der Bevölkerung sind Lewis a/b negativ, so dass die maximale erreichbare diagnostische Empfindlichkeit bei 95% liegt
Differentialdiagnose
Die höchste Sensitivität hat das CA 19-9 beim Pankreaskarzinom (bei Pankreaskarzinomen mit einem Durchmesser von < 3 cm ist der Marker in etwa 50% der Fälle positiv und bei einem Tumordurchmesser von > 3 cm in etwa 85 – 90 %). Beim Pankreaskarzinom korreliert die Höhe des Tumormarkers mit der Tumorgröße.
Bei folgenden anderen Tumorerkrankungen finden sich gelegentlich Erhöhungen des CA 19-9-Spiegels im Serum :

- Pankreatitis
- Erkrankungen der Gallenwege
- Lebererkrankungen
- Nikotinabusus
