Food Swap

Mit dem aus den USA stammenden Ausdruck Food Swap (engl. aus Food, dt. Essen, Nahrung und Swap, zu deutsch Austausch, Tauschhandel) werden Treffen bezeichnet, bei denen die Teilnehmer ausschließlich selbst hergestellte oder erzeugte Nahrungsmittel wie Früchte, Gemüse usw., Konserven (Marmelade etc.) oder z. B. Brot untereinander tauschen.

Nach Inaugenscheinnahme und Probieren tragen sich die jeweiligen Interessenten auf bei den einzelnen Produkten ausgelegten Listen ein, nach der Vereinbarung der Tauschwerte werden schließlich die einzelnen Angebote unter den Interessenten nach Art einer so genannten „stillen Versteigerung“ verteilt.
