Harlech Castle ist eine Burg in Harlech (Wales) die gemeinsam mit drei weiteren walisischen Burgen zum UNESCO-Welterbe gehört.

Anlage

Wie auch Beaumaris Castle besitzt Harlech eine doppelte konzentrische Ringmauer mit Wehrtürmen an den Ecken und ein von doppelten Türmen verteidigtes Torhaus. Anders als Beaumaris ist Harlech aber eine Höhenburg. Die Ähnlichkeiten in der Art der Befestigungen sind damit zu erklären, dass beide Anlagen von dem Baumeister James of St. George im Auftrag von Eduard I. konstruiert wurden. Wie bei den Burgen Eduards üblich, besitzt auch Harlech ein Tor mit Zugang zum Meer, und war daher vor Belagerungen sicher, solange es den Belagerern nicht gelang, diesen Nachschubweg abzuschneiden.
