Castagne

Patrick Castagne (* 3. Oktober 1916 als Patrick Stanisclaus Castagne in Guyana; † 5. Mai 2005) besuchte das St. Mary`s College und PoS von 1926 bis 1935 und war Mitglied des „College Cadet Corps“. Er hatte viele Ämter in der Republik Trinidad und Tobago inne, erhielt die „Chaconia medal“ und wurde Member of the British Empire. Seine größte Leidenschaft lag aber im Komponieren. Viele auf dem Inselstaat bekannte Lieder stammen aus seiner Feder. Der Höhepunkt seines Schaffens war der Sieg im Jahre 1962 beim Wettbewerb um die trinbegonische Nationalhymne: „Forged From The Love of Liberty“.
