High Pressure Injection


High Pressure Injection (HPI) ist ein elektronisch gesteuertes Einspritzverfahren für Lkw-Dieselmotoren der Schwedischen Firma Scania.

Das Verfahren erzeugt einen maximalen Einspritzdruck von 2400 bar. Der Einspritzdruck wird wie beim System "Pumpe-Düse" oder "Pumpe-Leitung-Düse" mechanisch über die Nockenwelle des Ventiltriebes erzeugt. Die Besonderheit liegt darin, dass die Düsennadel des Injektors nicht wie bei anderen Systemen über eine hohe Federkraft geschlossen wird. Das Grundprinzip lässt sich vom Cummins-Einspritzsystem "PT" (Pressure-Time) ableiten.
