Mandub

Als mandub (arabisch ‏مندوب‎), auch mustahabb (arabisch ‏مستحبّ‎), bezeichnet man im Islam Handlungen, deren Tun nach religiöser Auffassung empfohlen ist und die deshalb verdienstvoll sind.

Nach islamischer Überlieferung wird der Muslim zwar für das Unterlassen empfohlener Handlungen nicht bestraft, für ihr Tun hingegen jedoch belohnt.

Ein Beispiel für eine Handlungen, die mandub sind, sind freiwillige, zusätzliche Gebete.
