Marcie Blane

Marcie Blane (* 21. Mai 1944 in Brooklyn) ist eine US-amerikanische Popsängerin, die durch die im Herbst 1962 veröffentlichte Single Bobby's Girl[1] bekannt geworden ist.

Geschichte

Unmittelbar nach ihrem Highschool-Abschluss erhielt Blane einen Plattenvertrag. Bobby's Girl war ihre erste Single.[2] Die Aufnahme war im damals populären Sound der Girl-Groups produziert. Die Single erreichte in den US-Charts Platz 3.[3] Auf ihrem Hit wurde sie vom Billy Mure Orchester begleitet. Für den deutschsprachigen Markt hat sie eine lokalisierte Version produziert. Ihre zweite Single What Does A Girl Do?[4] konnte noch einmal einen bescheidenen Platz 82 erreichen. Danach blieben die Erfolge aus, und Blane zog sich nach einigen weiteren erfolglosen Singleveröffentlichungen aus dem Musikgeschäft zurück.[5]
