Medicus Mundi International (MMI) ist das Netzwerk privater, nicht-gewinnorientierter Organisationen der internationalen Gesundheitszusammenarbeit. Die Mitglieder des Netzwerks setzen sich für den Zugang aller Menschen zu Gesundheit und Gesundheitsversorgung ein. Im Rahmen des Netzwerks teilen die Mitglieder ihr Wissen und Erfahrungen miteinander und entwickeln gemeinsame Positionen zu grundlegenden Themen der Basisgesundheitsversorgung. Das gemeinsame Konzept der Armutsüberwindung und der Gesundheitsförderung durch Basisgesundheitsdienste beruht auf der Förderung lokaler Kapazitäten, dem Dialog zwischen Regierungen und nichtstaatlichen Gesundheitsinstitutionen und dem Austausch von Erfahrungen und Expertise zwischen Institutionen des Südens und des Nordens.
