Als Chief Risk Officer oder Risikomanager werden Mitarbeiter in einem Unternehmen bezeichnet, deren Aufgabe es ist, das Risiko von möglicherweise auftretenden Schäden für das Unternehmen abzuschätzen (siehe Risikoanalyse).

Sie sind auch für die Erarbeitung von präventiven Maßnahmen und die Erstellung von Maßnahmenplänen für die notwendigen Aktionen beim Eintreffen eines Schadens verantwortlich (siehe Risikomanagement).

Vor allem in größeren Unternehmen im Finanzdienstleistungsbereich finden sich solche Posten. Chief Risk Officer sind meist hohe Manager, die nicht selten im Vorstand der Unternehmen sitzen.
