Viscount Runciman of Doxford, of Doxford in the County of Northumberland, ist ein erblicher britischer Adelstitel in der Peerage of the United Kingdom, der von der Familie Runciman geführt wird.
Verleihung
Der Titel wurde im Jahre 1937 für den Politiker Walter Runciman geschaffen. Dieser war fast 40 Jahre Mitglied des House of Commons und in verschiedenen liberalen Regierungen Erziehungs-, Landwirtschafts- und Handelsminister gewesen.
Nachgeordneter Titel
Der Vater des ersten Viscounts, Walter Runciman, war ein bedeutender Reeder. Er wurde 1933 zum Baron Runciman, of Shoreston in the County of Northumberland, erhoben. Auch dieser Titel gehört zur Peerage of the United Kingdom. Der erste Viscount erbte diesen Titel kurze Zeit, nachdem er selbst in den Adelsstand erhoben worden war. Seitdem wird die Baronie als nachgeordneter Titel vom jeweiligen Viscount geführt.
Weiterer Titel
1906 war der Vater des ersten Viscounts bereits zum Baronet erhoben worden. Diese Würde, welche zur Baronetage of the United Kingdom gehört, wird ebenfalls vom jeweiligen Viscount geführt.
