Entschlüsselung eines Geheimtextes

Als Geheimtext (auch: Kryptogramm, Chiffrat, Kryptotext oder Schlüsseltext) wird in der Kryptographie, also der Wissenschaft von den Geheimschriften, der Text genannt, der durch Verschlüsselung mithilfe eines kryptographischen Verfahrens und unter Verwendung eines Schlüssels erzeugt wurde.

Mit einem geheimen Schlüssel kann ein Geheimtext wieder in den ursprünglichen Klartext zurückgewandelt werden. Diesen Vorgang nennt man Entschlüsselung.
