Die City University of New York (auch CUNY genannt) ist ein Verbund staatlicher Universitäten in New York City im US-Bundesstaat New York. Mit 450.000 Studenten ist es nach der State University of New York und dem California State University-System das drittgrößte State University System in den USA. Die Geschichte des CUNY geht auf die Gründung des City College 1847 zurück. Vergleichbar der State University of New York (SUNY), wird sie vom Bundesstaat New York finanziell unterstützt, darüber hinaus jedoch auch durch die Stadt New York.
