Cracklebox

Die Crackle Box (oder Cracklebox) ist ein von Michel Waisvisz in den 1970ern entwickeltes Instrument zur Erzeugung von elektronischer Live-Musik.

Die elektrischen (oszillierenden) Schaltungen werden durch die Finger auf der Spielfläche angeregt, so dass Klänge erzeugt werden. Je nach Druck und Feuchtigkeit der Finger entstehen dabei Kurzschlüsse, so dass die Spielergebnisse auch nicht-linear sind bzw. der Spieler nur teilweise auf die entstehenden Klänge Einfluss nehmen kann. Das Instrument wird auch von anderen Improvisationsmusikern, etwa dem Komponisten Karlheinz Essl, verwendet.
