Unterteiltes Großraumbüro

Ein Großraumbüro ist ein Bürokonzept. Es handelt sich um einen Raum mit großer Grundfläche, der oft durch Raumteiler in viele Computerarbeitsplätze (meist einfach Box genannt, im englischen Cubicle) unterteilt ist.

Eine Box wird durch drei oder vier Raumteiler begrenzt. Diese haben meist eine Stoffbespannung und werden im Quadrat mit einer Seitenlänge von ca. 1,50m aufgestellt, so dass sich eine kleine Raumzelle mit einem Eingang ergibt. In dieses Cubicle wird ein Arbeitsplatz und ein Stuhl gestellt. In Deutschland sind Großraumbüros sehr häufig in Callcentern und bei Töchtern amerikanischer Unternehmen anzutreffen.

Da die Raumteiler oft nicht bis zur Decke reichen dürfen - die Höhe liegt je nach Bauordnung bei 1,50m bis 1,65m - , kann man zwar alles hören, aber seine Kollegen (und das Tageslicht) nur im Stehen sehen. Großraumbüros sind bei Arbeitnehmern in Deutschland oft unbeliebt, da einerseits der Schutz vor akustischen Störungen unzureichend ist, andererseits die Kommunikation nicht gefördert wird.

Manager haben in der Regel eigene, nicht unterteilte Büros oder eine größere Fläche.

Raumteiler, die Arbeitsgruppen zwischen 4 und 8 Mitarbeitern abschirmen, erfahren eine deutliche höhere Akzeptanz als Cubicles, die einzelne Mitarbeiter voneinander trennen. Wenn diese Raumteiler raumhoch ausgebildet werden können oder Tiefenfrequenzabsorber beinhalten, leisten sie darüber hinaus einen besseren Beitrag zur Akustik.
