Die Delaware Bay ist ein Ästuar an der Atlantikküste der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika.

Der Mündungstrichter des Delaware River besitzt eine Fläche von 782 Quadratmeilen (2030 km²) und wird von Cape May (Bundesstaat New Jersey) und Cape Henlopen (Delaware) begrenzt. Die Ufer sind flach und werden größtenteils von Watten und Salzmarschen gebildet.

Neben dem namengebenden Fluss münden noch weitere Gewässer in die Bucht:

  • Christina River,
  • Appoquinimink River,
  • Leipsic River,
  • Smyrna River,
  • St. Jones River und
  • Murderkill River

die in Delaware münden, dazu kommen in New Jersey:

  • Salem River,
  • Cohansey River und
  • Maurice River.

Das Brackwasser und die umliegenden Ufer dienen sowohl Wasservögeln als auch vielen Meeresbewohnern als Kinderstube, die Austernzucht besitzt wirtschaftliche Bedeutung. Die Delaware Bay ist außerdem ein an Seevögeln reiches Gebiet. Während der Zugzeiten versammeln sich hier beispielsweise Hunderttausende von Sandstrandläufern.
