Dievturība

Dievturi (von lettisch Dievs: Gott) ist eine neuheidnische Religionsgemeinschaft in Lettland. Sie bezieht sich auf die zahlreichen vorchristlichen, bis heute lebendigen mündlichen Überlieferungen Dainas sowie auf die damit verbundenen Traditionen und Trachten; siehe auch Lettische Mythologie, Lielvārdes josta.

Die Gemeinschaft zählt 8.000 Mitglieder in Lettland, was etwa 0,3% der Gesamtbevölkerung entspricht.

Sie wurde 1925 von dem Archäologen, Künstler und Historiker Ernest Brastiņš gegründet. Der "Katechismus" der Dievturi ist der Catechismus Teoforii.
