Ein Digitally Controlled Oscillator (DCO, engl. Digital gesteuerter Oszillator) oder auch Numerically Controlled Oscillator (NCO, engl. Numerisch gesteuerter Oszillator) ist eine elektronische Schaltung oder ein elektronisches Bauelement, welches basierend auf einer fixen Zeitbasis, einem Referenztakt, zur Schwingungserzeugung verwendet wird. Viele DCO basieren auf dem Verfahren der Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS), in Synthesizern allerdings werden auch Oszillatoren mit analogem Integrator, der durch einen Zeitgeber zyklisch zurückgesetzt wird, als DCO bezeichnet.

Die Frequenz der Schwingung wird beim digital gesteuerten Oszillator direkt über einen Zahlenwert eingestellt. Dadurch erhält man eine sehr genau eingestellte Frequenz, welche (im Rahmen der Spezifikationen des Bauteils bzw. der Komponenten der Schaltung) konstant bleibt. Diese Stimmstabilität wird erkauft mit einem nur in Stufen (diskret) einstellbaren Frequenzbereich.
