Sir John Miller Adye (* 1. November 1819 in Sevenoaks, Kent; † 26. August 1900) war ein britischer General.

Leben

John Miller Adye wurde auf der Militärschule in zu Woolwich erzogen und trat 1836 in die Artillerie ein. Er machte beim Krimkrieg und dem Kampf gegen die indischen Rebellen als Generaladjutant der Artillerie mit. Weiter nahm er am Sitanafeldzug in Afghanistan 1863 bis 1864 teil. 1875 wurde Adye Generalmajor und Gouverneur der Militärschule in Woolwich und 1881 Generalleutnant.

1882 begleitete er Garnet Joseph Wolseley als Generalstabschef auf dem ägyptischen Feldzug und wurde darauf zum Gouverneur von Gibraltar ernannt.
