E-Seal

Der Begriff Elektronisches Siegel oder kurz E-Siegel findet in der Logistik für die Versiegelung von Transportbehältern Anwendung.

Das E-Siegel verbindet die Vorteile mechanischer Bolzensiegel und elektronischer Technologien, etwa Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Solche Siegel werden bereits von verschiedenen Herstellern angeboten. Derzeit ist das Problem der Notwendigkeit einer internationalen Standardisierung noch nicht ausreichend gelöst.

Erst mit einer internationalen Standardisierung ist es möglich, dass die Informationen, die vom Siegel gesendet werden, über die Prozesskette hinweg von allen Interessenten gelesen werden können. Diese Interessenten sind neben den Zollbehörden, auch die Hersteller der betroffenen Waren, die Spediteure und die Empfänger und das über Staatsgrenzen hinweg.
