EN ISO 10303

STEP (STandard for the Exchange of Product model data) ist ein Standard zur Beschreibung von Produktdaten. Diese Beschreibung umfasst neben den physischen auch funktionale Aspekte eines Produktes. STEP ist formal in dem ISO-Standard 10303 definiert. Aufgrund der Standardisierung ist STEP für den Datenaustausch zwischen verschiedenen Systemen geeignet. Innerhalb von STEP können Produktdateninformationen des gesamten Lebenszyklus abgebildet werden. Somit eignet sich der Einsatz von STEP für die verschiedenen Anwendungsbereiche bzw. -systeme wie beispielsweise CAD, CAM, PDM, DMU und CAE. Hierfür werden sogenannte Applikationsprotokolle für die verschiedensten Anwendungsbereiche zur Verfügung gestellt, wie z. B.

  • AP 214 (Core data for automotive mechanical design processes)
  • AP 218 (Ship structures)
  • AP 233 (Systems engineering data representation)
  • AP 236 (Furniture product data and project data)
  • ...

In Deutschland wird für den Produktdatenaustausch im Bereich der Technischen Gebäudeausrüstung auch die VDI 3805 genutzt.

Folgende Teile der ISO 10303 sind in Deutschland als Norm derzeit gültig:

  • DIN EN ISO 10303-210 Industrielle Automatisierungssysteme und Integration - Produktdatendarstellung und -austausch - Teil 210: Anwendungsprotokoll: Elektronische Montage, Verbindung und Gestaltung (Ausgabe 12.2002)
  • DIN ISO 10303-212 Industrielle Automatisierungssysteme und Integration - Produktdatendarstellung und -austausch - Teil 212: Anwendungsprotokoll: Elektrische/elektrotechnische Systeme und Anlagen (Entwurf, Ausgabe 12.2004)
  • DIN ISO 10303-225 Industrielle Automatisierungssysteme und Integration - Produktdatendarstellung und -austausch - Teil 225: Anwendungsprotokoll: Gebäudeelemente unter expliziter Darstellung der Bauteilgeometrie (Entwurf, Ausgabe 12.2004)

Als allgemeines Datenaustauschformat im Bauwesen für Gebäudedaten (z. B. aus bauwesenspezifischen CAD-Systemen) wird auch das IFC Format genutzt.
