Ellen Johnson ist eine US-amerikanische Bürgerrechtlerin und ehemalige Präsidentin von American Atheists. Sie setzt sich für die Belange von Atheisten und für die Trennung von Staat und Kirche ein.

Johnson wuchs bereits in einem atheistischen Elternhaus auf und war seit 1978 bei American Atheists aktiv. Sie studierte Umwelt- und Politikwissenschaften. Nach dem Verschwinden der Gründerin von American Atheists Madalyn Murray O’Hair (sie wurde später ermordet aufgefunden) wurde Johnson 1995 ihre Nachfolgerin. Im November 2002 gab Johnson die Gründung des Godless Americans Political Action Committee (GAMPAC) zur Unterstützung politischer Kandidaten, die sich für die Trennung von Staat und Kirche einsetzen, bekannt. Im Mai 2008 endete Johnsons Präsidentschaft, nachdem sie gegen ihren Willen vom Amt abgewählt wurde. Gründe dafür sind nicht bekannt.
