Emily Jane Mercer Elphinstone Petty-Fitzmaurice, Marchioness of Lansdowne und 8. Lady Nairne (* 16. Mai 1819; † 26. Juni 1895) war eine britische Peeress.
Leben und Karriere
Die geborene Comtesse Emily Jane de Flahaut in Edinburgh war die älteste Tochter des französischen Staatsmanns Charles Joseph, comte de Flahaut und seiner Frau Margaret. Am 1. November 1843 heiratete sie Henry Petty-Fitzmaurice, der damals als Erbe des Marquess of Lansdowne den Höflichkeitstitel Earl of Shelburne führte, und durfte sich damit Countess of Shelburne nennen. Das Ehepaar hatte drei Kinder:
- Hon. Henry Charles Keith, später 5. Marquess of Lansdowne (1845–1927)
- Hon. Edmond George, später Lord Edmond George, später Baron Fitzmaurice (1846–1935)
- Lady Emily Louisa Anne († 1939), heiratete Hon. Everard Digby (Sohn des 9. Baron Digby) und hatte ein Kind.
1863 erbte Petty-Fitzmaurice Mann beim Tode seines Vaters den Titel Marquess of Lansdowne, womit sie zur „Marchioness of Lansdowne“ wurde. Vier Jahre später erbte Emily Petty-Fitzmaurice selbst beim Tode ihrer Mutter den Titel einer Lady Nairne, 1874 wurde diese Nachfolge auch von House of Lords förmlich anerkannt.
Als Emily Petty-Fitzmaurice 1895 starb, ging ihr Titel auf den ältesten Sohn über.
