Die European Internet Exchange Association (Euro-IX) wurde durch die größten europäischen Betreiber von Internet-Knoten (IX) gegründet. Die Organisationen ist für Provider, Netzbetreiber und Internet-Knoten-Betreiber (Internet Exchange Provider, IXP) gedacht.
Seit dem Beitritt des amerikanischen EQUINIX (2005) zur Euro-IX umfasst die Organisation 36 Mitglieder (IXPs), das entspricht ca. 50 % der europäischen IXPs.
Das Unternehmen pflegt dabei öffentlich zugängliche Daten der beigetretenen IXPs. Zudem wird eine Peering Matrix (IXPs) unterhalten, die die Konnektivität der IXPs untereinander beschreibt.
