Die Pflanzenschutzorganisation für Europa und den Mittelmeerraum (EPPO) ist eine internationale Organisation zur Zusammenarbeit der Europäischen Länder im Bereich des Pflanzenschutzes.
Mitgliedstaaten der EPPO
Gegründet wurde die EPPO 1951 und hat 50 Mitglieder (Stand Mai 2008). Ständiger Hauptsitz ist in Paris. Die EPPO untersteht dem Internationalen Pflanzenschutzübereinkommen (IPPC) das durch die Ernährungs- und Landwirtschaftsorganisation (FAO) auf ihrer 6. Sitzung 1951 verabschiedet wurde. Weitere regionale Pflanzenschutzorganisationen sind:
- Asia and Pacific Plant Protection Commission (APPPC) für den Fernen Osten, Indischen Subkontinent, Australien und Neuseeland
- Andengemeinschaft (CAN - span. Comunidad Andina) für Bolivien, Kolumbien, Ecuador und Peru
- Comité de Sanidad Vegetal del Cono Sur (COSAVE) für Argentinien, Brasilien, Chile, Paraguay und Uruguay
- Interafrican Phytosanitary Council (IAPSC) für Afrika
- North American Plant Protection Organization NAPPO für die Staaten Nordamerikas
- Organismo Internacional Regional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (OIRSA) für Zentralamerika
- Pacific Plant Protection Organization (PPPO) für Staaten des Pazifischen Raumes
