Der Flushing Meadows Park (auch nur Flushing Meadows, zu deutsch Durchflutete Wiesen) ist ein Park im nördlichen Queens, New York City. Es ist mit 1.255 Acre (5 km²) der größte Park in Queens und wurde anlässlich der Weltausstellung 1939/1940 erbaut und beherbergte ebenfalls die Weltausstellung 1964/65. International bekannt ist er durch das US Open-Tennisturnier, das im Park stattfindet.
Der Park wurde in den 1930er Jahren aus einer Sumpflandschaft gewonnen. Der Park hat zwei Seen, den Meadow und den Willow, die über den Fluss Flushing in den Long-Island-Sund münden. 1946 bis 1950 fanden die Versammlungen der Vereinten Nationen im Park statt.
Im Park liegt das USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (vor den US Open 2006 USTA National Tennis Center) mit dem Arthur Ashe Stadion, wo die US Open ausgetragen werden. Das Baseballteam der New York Mets hat sein Stadion (Shea Stadium) ebenfalls auf dem Parkgelände.
Im Park sind weiterhin das Queens Theater, die New York Hall of Science, das Queens Museum of Art, eine Eislaufhalle und diverse andere Sportplätze.
Von der Weltausstellung 1964 sind noch die Unisphere, eine Art riesiger Globus und der seit der Weltausstellung verlassene New York State Pavillon erhalten. Die weiteren Gebäude wurden abgebaut, nachdem sich kein neuer Nutzungszweck fand.
In den Medien
In der Science-Fiction-Komödie Men in Black von 1997 ist der Flushing Meadows Park zu sehen. Agent J (Will Smith) und Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) versuchen die Schabe (Vincent D’Onofrio) daran zu hindern, die Erde im Observation Tower zu verlassen, der sich in ein außerirdisches Raumschiff verwandelt und in die Unisphere stürzt.
In der Eröffnungssequenz der Comedy Serie King of Queens sind in einer Aufnahme Doug und Carrie auf dem Rasen vor der Unisphere zu sehen.
