Folk Implosion

Folk Implosion ist eine US-amerikanische Alternative-Rock-Band die 1993 von Lou Barlow und John Davis gegründet wurde. Barlow ist außerdem Frontmann bei Sebadoh und Bassist bei Dinosaur_Jr. Nachdem Davis die Band im Jahr 2000 verließ, stießen Russell Pollard und Imaad Wasif von der Band Alaska! dazu. Stilistisch bewegt sich die Band zwischen Indie-Rock und Folk und experimentiert auch immer wieder mit elektronischen Elementen.

Ihren bisher größten Erfolg hatten sie 1995 mit der Single "Natural One" vom Soundtrack zum Film Kids, die es bis in die amerikanischen Top 40 schaffte. Im Film selber kam der Song allerdings nicht vor.
