Der Football League of Ireland Cup ist ein irischer Fußballwettbewerb ausgerichtet vom irischen Fußballverband (Football Association of Ireland), an dem alle Mannschaften der Football League of Ireland teilnehmen können.

Derry City, die auch die aktuelle Ausgabe 2006 gewonnen haben, ist mit sieben Titeln derzeit Rekordsieger.

Modus

Der Austragungsmodus hat sich in den letzten Jahren öfters verändert. Lange Zeit gab es sechs Gruppen, die nach regionalen Gesichtspunkten eingeteilt waren. Die Sieger und die zwei besten Zweiten spielten im Pokalmodus den Gewinner aus. In den 1990er Jahren wurde der Wettbewerb ausschließlich im Pokalmodus ausgetragen. Jedoch änderte man das Konzept erneut und spielt wieder in Gruppen, dieses Mal aus drei Mannschaften bestehend und einzig der Sieger erreicht die nächste Runde. 2006 wurde erneut in reinem Pokalmodus gespielt, wobei die Auslosung der ersten Runden unter regionalen Gesichtspunkten erfolgte.

Auch der Modus des Finals wurde mehrmals überarbeitet. Es gab Versionen mit neutralen Finalorten, zwei Finalspielen oder einer Auslosung, wer das Heimrecht im Finalspiel erhält.
