GROEZROCK

Das Festivalgelände (2008)

Das Groezrock ist ein jährlich stattfindendes Musikfestival in Meerhout (Gestel), Belgien, welches für gewöhnlich immer am letzten Wochenende im April stattfindet. Ausnahme war bisher das Jahr 2008.

Das erste Groezrock fand 1992 als kleines Rock- und Pop-Festival mit knapp 400 Besuchern statt. Erst 1997 erhöhten sich langsam aber stetig die Besucherzahlen, bis zum Rekord im Jahre 2008 mit 25.000 Besuchern. Seit 2003 gibt es jeweils zwei Zelte mit je einer Bühne, die Main Stage sowie die von Eastpak gesponserte Core Stage. Im Jahre 2006 feierte das Festival sein 15. Jubiläum und findet seitdem an zwei Tagen (Freitag und Samstag) statt.

2009 wurde das erste Mal eine dritte Bühne für zumeist kleinere Bands bekannt gegeben.
