Rezeption

Erfolg

Die erste Single vom Album, das Lied What’s My Name, schaffte es ins Rundfunk und Fernsehen. Mit etwa 698.000 verkauften Alben erreichte DMX 6-mal Platinum und …And Then There Was X ist bis heute das meistverkaufte Album des amerikanischen Rappers. Seit seinem Debütalbum It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot stiegen alle auf dem ersten Platz der Billboard Charts ein.[1]

In den Niederlanden konnte …And Then There Was X Platz 64 der Album-Charts erreichen.

In der elften Kalenderwoche belegte …And Then There Was X mit Platz 96 die letzte Position in den deutschen Album-Charts.[3]

Kritik

Die Musikzeitschrift Rolling Stone bewertete …And Then There Was X mit drei von fünf möglichen Bewertungspunkten.
