Die Hamburg School of Music ist eine staatlich anerkannte Berufsfachschule für Popularmusik in Hamburg, im Stadtteil St.Pauli (im Medienbunker an der Feldstraße).

Im Jahre 1999 wurde die Hamburg School of Music (HSM) u.a. von Helge Zumdieck, einem ehemaligen Dozenten der seinerzeit von Prof. Udo Dahmen geleiteten Music Station als deren ideelle Nachfolgerin gegründet. Seit dem Jahr 2003 wird eine zweijährige Berufsausbildung zum Berufsmusiker angeboten, die seit dem Jahr 2005 auch BAföG-gefördert wird. Im Jahr 2008 wird die Hamburg School of Music als Berufsfachschule für Popularmusik in Deutschland staatlich anerkannt. Zahlreiche bekannte Musiker Deutschlands sind als Dozenten an der Schule tätig. Schirmherren sind Roger Cicero (Fachbereich Jazz) und Inga Rumpf (Fachbereich Rock).

Die zweijährige, BAföG-geförderte Vollzeitausbildung zum staatlich anerkannten Berufsmusiker im Bereich Popularmusik beginnt jeweils im Oktober. Ambitionierte Nachwuchstalente werden von rund 40 erfolgreichen Live- & Studio-Musikern und Kennern der nationalen und internationalen Musikszene auf eine Zukunft als professioneller Musiker vorbereitet: individuell, praxisnah und stilistisch vielseitig (Rock, Pop, Jazz). Absolventen der HSM spielen in diversen Berufsfeldern ganz vorne mit: als Live- und Studiomusiker, in Theater-, Film und Musicalproduktionen, als Komponisten, Arrangeure, Songwriter oder als Musiklehrer. Bewerbungsschluss ist jeweils am 31. Mai.

Weitere Lehrgänge für Professionals: Vorbereitungsjahr, Pädagogisches Jahr, anschließender Bachelor/ Master- Abschluss an der europäischen Partneruniversität University of Plymouth (GB).

Musiker aller Leistungsklassen finden außerhalb des Ausbildungsbereiches ebenfalls ein großes Weiterbildungsprogramm: Orientierungsjahr, dreiwöchige Sommer Akademie (11.-30. Juli 2011), Theorie Crashkurs, Bandtraining, einzelne Workshops sowie regelmäßiger Musikunterricht für Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene an sieben Tagen in der Woche.
