Die University of Allahabad ist eine staatliche Universität in Allahabad im indischen Bundesstaat Uttar Pradesh. Sie hat erfolgreich die Förderung eines "Center of Excellence" im Bereich "Behavioural Cognitive Sciences" beantragt.

Geschichte

Die Universität wurde am 23. September 1887 von William Muir als Muir Central College gegründet und war damals nach der University of Bombay, der University of Calcutta, der University of Madras sowie der University of the Punjab (heute in Lahore, Pakistan) die 5. Universitätsgründung in Britisch-Indien.
