Herman Snellen Sr (* 19. Februar 1834 in Zeist; † 18. Januar 1908 in Utrecht) war ein niederländischer Augenarzt und Hochschullehrer der Augenheilkunde in Utrecht. Er ist vor allem wegen der Erfindung der Sehprobentafeln bekannt geworden. Mit Hilfe solcher Tafeln kann die Sehschärfe bestimmt werden kann.
