Horwood

William Horwood (* 12. Mai 1944 in Oxford) ist britischer Autor von Romanen des Genres Tier-Fantasy. Sein erstes Buch "Der Stein von Duncton" gilt als Klassiker dieses Genres. Hauptpersonen sind Maulwürfe. Zudem war Horwood für Fortsetzungen des Kinderbuchklassikers The Wind in the Willows von Kenneth Grahame verantwortlich.

Nicht so erfolgreich waren seine Geschichten über Wölfe. Sein ursprünglich als Trilogie geplantes Werk "Wolves of Time" wurde vom Verlag auf zwei Bände gekürzt, so dass der Mittelband "Wanderers of the Wolfways" nie erschienen ist.

Von 1963 an studierte er an der Bristol University, wo er 1966 sein Studium mit einem Bachelor of Arts in Geographie mit Wirtschaftswissenschaften abschloß.
