Der Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC) ist der Informationsfreiheits- und Datenschutzbeauftragte der kanadischen Provinz Ontario.
Die rechtlichen Grundlagen für den IPC sind der Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, der Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act sowie der Personal Health Information Protection Act. In seiner Arbeit ist er unabhängig von der Regierung. Amtssitz des IPC ist Toronto.
Zu den Aufgaben des IPC zählen die Bearbeitung von Beschwerden in Sachen Informationsfreiheit und Datenschutz, die Überwachung der Einhaltung der Informationsfreiheits- und Datenschutzgesetze durch die staatlichen Organisationen und die Aufklärung der Öffentlichkeit.
Derzeitiger IPC ist die Juristin Ann Cavoukian. Sie wurde 1997 zum IPC ernannt und für die zweite Amtszeit (bis 2009) in ihrem Amt bestätigt.
Der IPC Ontario ist Mitglied der Internationalen Konferenz der Beauftragten für den Datenschutz und den Schutz der Privatsphäre und wird dort durch Ann Cavoukian vertreten.
