Das Binnenmarktinformationssystem (IMI) (Internal Market Information System) der EU dient der grenzüberschreitenden Vernetzung von zuständigen Behörden und ermöglicht diesen den Datenaustausch mit zuständigen Behörden in anderen EU-Mitgliedsstaaten. IMI ermöglicht die Zusammenarbeit der EU-Mitgliedsstaaten und ist damit Voraussetzung zur Umsetzung bspw. der Europäischen Berufsanerkennungsrichtlinie und ab Dezember 2009 der Europäischen Dienstleistungsrichtlinie. Der Einsatz von IMI soll auf weitere Rechtsbereiche des Binnenmarktrechts ausgedehnt werden.
Funktionsweise
Über den Behördenfinder Deutschland sollen Bürger der EU die zuständige Behörde ermitteln. Ein bundeslandspezifischer, einheitlicher Ansprechpartner hilft, die Kommunikation zwischen beiden Parteien abzuwickeln. Anträge sollen direkt gestellt werden können. Die Kommunikation mit der Behörde und die Bearbeitung der Anträge erfolgt direkt bei der zuständigen Stelle.
