International System of Quantities

Das Internationale Größensystem, abgekürzt ISQ (von engl.: International System of Quantities), ist definiert über folgende sieben Basisgrößen

Sie wurden gewählt, weil ihre Einheiten die Basiseinheiten des Internationalen Einheitensystems (SI) sind. (Der Standard ISO 80000 gibt zwar an, das SI basiere auf dem ISQ; dies ist aber unrichtig. Man könnte vielleicht sagen, SI und ISQ korrespondieren miteinander.)

Das ISQ wird ab 2008 im internationalen Standard Quantities and units (dt.: Größen und Einheiten) mit der Nummer 80000 – entweder von der ISO (als ISO 80000) oder von der IEC (als IEC 80000) – in 14 Teilen veröffentlicht werden[1]. Diese vorläufig als ISO/IEC 80000 bezeichnete Normensammlung wird die derzeitigen beiden Normen ISO 31 und IEC 60027 ablösen und in einer gemeinsamen, harmonisierten Form wiedergeben. Das für die Ausarbeitung der Normen zuständige Technische Komitee (engl. Technical Committee, abgekürzt TC) ist bei der ISO das TC 12 (Quantities, units, symbols, conversion factors)[2] und bei der IEC das TC 25 (Quantities and units, and their letter symbols)[3].

Teile der ISO/IEC 80000

Die ISO/IEC 80000 besteht aus den im Folgenden aufgezählten 14 Teilen. Jeder Teil ist hier zuerst mit seinem englischen Originaltitel und dann – falls vorhanden – mit dem vom Beuth Verlag[4] verwendeten deutschen Titel genannt.

Einzelne Titel sind auch bereits – als Entwurf – in deutscher Sprache als DIN oder ÖNORM veröffentlicht worden.
