Die Union Internationale des Architectes (UIA) wurde am 28. Juni 1948 in Lausanne gegründet, ist die größte und eine nichtstaatliche Internationale Vereinigung der Architekten mit Sitz in Paris.
Bei der Gründung zählte die UIA 27 Mitgliedsdelegationen. Mittlerweile ist sie in 116 Ländern mit mehr als 1,3 Millionen Mitgliedern der größte Architektenverband. Die UIA ist von den meisten Sonderorganisationen der Vereinten Nationen als einzige Vereinigung auf diesem Fachgebiet anerkannt.
Zur weltweiten Förderung der Architektur und des Berufsstandes setzt die UIA ihre Schwerpunkte auf die architekturfachliche Bildung, Professionalität und die Ausrichtung internationaler Wettbewerbe.
