Amnesty for Women ist eine Frauenrechtsorganisation, die im Jahre 1981 von Cheryl Benard und Edit Schlaffer in Wien gegründet wurde. Ähnlich wie Terre des Femmes wurde Amnesty for Women gegründet, weil ein Defizit bezüglich des Engagements gegen Menschenrechtsverletzungen speziell wegen des weiblichen Geschlechts gesehen wurde.

Die deutsche Dependance von Amnesty for Women wurde im Jahre 1986 in Hamburg gegründet. Nach eigenen Angaben sind die Ziele von Amnesty for Women "öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Lobbyarbeit und Basisarbeit".
