Das Dolphin Stadium ist ein Stadion in Miami Gardens, am Stadtrand von Miami, Florida, USA. Es ist die Heimspielstätte der Miami Dolphins (American Football) und der Florida Marlins (Baseball). Bei Footballspielen liegt die Kapazität bei 75.540 Sitzplätzen.

Frühere Namen des Stadions sind Joe Robbie Stadium und Pro Player Stadium.

Geschichte

Das Stadion wurde von 1985-1987 als Dolphin Stadium errichtet. Erstmals bei einem Sportstadion wurden teure VIP-Suiten eingerichtet, um einen Teil der Baukosten aufzufangen. Eine wichtige Rolle bei der Durchsetzung des ehrgeizigen Projektes spielte der erste Eigentümer der Dolphins, Joseph "Joe" Robbie. Ihm zuehren hieß die Arena von 1987-1996 Joe Robbie Stadium. In den Jahren ab 1996 hielt die Bekleidungsfirma Pro Player die Namensrechte. Nachdem der Vertrag 2005 auslief, wurde das Stadion erneut in Dolphin Stadium umbenannt.

Super Bowls

Bisher wurden vier Super Bowls, das Finale der Profiliga National Football League (NFL), im Dolphin Stadium ausgetragen. 2010 wird das Stadion erneut Austragungsstätte des Großereignisses sein.
