Das Journal for General Philosophy of Science bzw. die Zeitschrift für allgemeine Wissenschaftstheorie ist ein zweisprachiges (englisch - deutsch) wissenschaftstheoretisches Periodikum.
Die Zeitschrift wurde 1970 unter ihrem deutschen Namen beim Franz Steiner Verlag veröffentlicht und von Alwin Diemer, Lutz Geldsetzer und Gert König herausgegeben. 1990 wurde die Zeitschrift von Kluwer / Springer übernommen und erscheint seitdem unter ihrem englischen Namen. Die Zeitschrift besteht überwiegend aus Artikeln, es gibt allerdings auch einen Diskussions- und Buchbesprechungsteil sowie eine aktuelle Bibliographie zu wissenschaftstheoretischer Literatur. In der Regel wird die Zeitschrift mit einem Nachruf auf einen bekannten Philosophen begonnen.
Die Zeitschrift deckt die verschiedenen Bereiche der Wissenschaftstheorie ab. Sie nimmt jedoch die Theorie der Geisteswissenschaften stärker in den Blick, als dies in anderen wissenschaftstheoretischen Journals üblich ist. Zudem werden in der Zeitschrift nicht nur Texte in der Tradition der analytischen Philosophie veröffentlicht, sondern auch solche, die sich stärker auf die Hermeneutik und die Wissenschaftsgeschichte beziehen.
