Kate O'Mara

Kate O’Mara (* 10. August 1939 in Leicestershire, England) ist eine englische Schauspielerin.

Sie ist die Tochter der Schauspielerin Hazel Bainbridge und des RAF-Flugausbilders John Carroll.

Kate O´Mara begann eine frühe Karriere als Sprach-Therapeutin an der Sussex Girls School, bevor sie 1963 ihr Schauspiel-Debüt am Theater gab. Nach zahlreichen Filmen und TV-Serien gelang ihr der internationale Durchbruch erst 1986 in den Staaten mit ihrer Rolle im Denver-Clan, als Alexis' Schwester Caress Morell.

Kate O’Mara war zweimal verheiratet. Ihr Sohn Dickon Young ist ein erfolgreicher Designer. Ihre jüngere Schwester Belinda Carroll (* 1945) ist ebenfalls Schauspielerin. Ihre Autobiographie veröffentlichte sie 1990.

Zuletzt war Kate O’Mara 2005 in einer Gastrolle der Serie Family Affairs zu sehen.
