Das LAN-Admin System ist ein freies Intranetsystem, das hauptsächlich zur Verwaltung von LAN-Partys entwickelt wurde. Vorgesehen sind Turniersysteme wie Double-Elimination und Single-Elimination, doch werden auch benutzerdefinierte Systeme unterstützt. Zur Verfügung stehen ein Catering-, Sitzplan- und Usermanagement, eine Gameserververwaltung, ein Forum sowie Module zur Strom- und Finanzplanung.

Das System steht unter der GPL und ist damit Freie Software. Es wurde in Perl programmiert und ist sowohl unter Linux als auch unter Windows lauffähig. Zum Betrieb benötigt es neben dem Perl-Interpreter ein SQL-Datenbanksystem und einen Webserver.

Am 10. April 2007 wurde die Entwicklung offiziell eingestellt.

Einsatz

Mittlerweile wurde das System auf mehreren LAN-Partys eingesetzt. Es kann aber auch als einfaches Content-Management-System und als Groupware-System eingesetzt werden. Für die Groupware-Funktionalität sind hauptsächlich das Kalender-Modul, das Adressbuch-Modul, das Projektmanagement-Modul sowie weitere kleinere Module zuständig. In mehreren kleinen Firmen kommt es für das Intranet zum Einsatz.

Die Installation ist relativ einfach durchzuführen, da es für zum Beispiel Debian Pakete und für Windows einen Installer gibt.

Templates können automatisch aus dem Internet geladen und installiert werden. Es sind mehrere Templates vorhanden, zusätzlich können eigene erstellt werden.
