Handlung

Die Mutter von Casey Stuart stirbt. Da Caseys Vater Ben, ein Anwalt, sehr beschäftigt ist, fühlt sich Casey vereinsamt. Sie bekommt von ihrer Schulkollegin Drew McDonald zum Geburtstag eine Puppe geschenkt.

Casey probiert einen Zauberspruch aus, der ihre Mutter wieder zum Leben erwecken soll. Stattdessen verwandelt sich die Puppe in eine lebendige Frau, Eve. Eve kommt Ben näher und beinahe küssen sie sich. Etwas später verwandelt sie sich zurück in eine Puppe.

Kritiken

Film-Dienst schrieb, der Film sei eine „einfältige Fantasykomödie, die Supermodel Tyra Banks zu ihrer ersten Filmrolle“ verhelfe.[1]

Die Zeitschrift Cinema spottete, die gezeigte Puppe habe „mehr Seele als dieser ganze Kinderfilm“.[2]

Hintergründe

Der Film wurde in Vancouver gedreht.[3] Seine Premiere im US-amerikanischen Fernsehen fand am 5. März 2000 statt. In Australien und Spanien wurde er zuerst auf Video bzw. DVD veröffentlicht.[4]
