Livingstone Falls

Die Livingstonefälle (nach David Livingstone) sind Wasserfälle des afrikanischen Stroms Kongo.

Unterhalb der Städte Brazzaville (Republik Kongo) und Kinshasa (Demokratische Republik Kongo) stürzt das Wasser beim Durchbruch durch die Niederguineaschwelle in mehreren Kaskaden zu Tal. Hier beginnt eine Serie von Stromschnellen, die auf einer Strecke von 350 Kilometern bis zum Kongodelta einen Höhenunterschied von insgesamt 274 Meter überwinden.
