Mahsati Ganjavi

Mahsati, auch Mahsati Ganjavi bzw. Məhsəti Gəncəvi, (* Ende des 11. Jahrhundert in Gäncä, heute in Aserbaidschan) war eine persische Dichterin.

Sie genoss eine hervorragende Ausbildung und kannte die orientalische Literatur und Musik ihrer Zeit sehr gut. Ihre besten Werke schrieb sie als Hofdichterin bei Sultan Mahmud Seldschuk und seinem Onkel Sandschar Seldschuk im 12. Jahrhundert.

Das Hauptthema ihrer Gedichte (Rubai) ist die Liebe. Sie rügt in ihren Werken moralistische, asketische Lebenseinstellungen und beschreibt romantische Träume einer Frau.
