Makú

Makú

Makú ist eine indigene Sprachfamilie Südamerikas, die im nordwestlichen Brasilien und in Kolumbien verbreitet ist. Die sprecherreichste Sprache ist das Hupdé Makú mit 1.300 Sprechern.

Eine entfernte Verwandtschaft mit dem Puinave (ISO 639-3: pui), das in Kolumbien und Venezuela von ca. 2.200 Menschen gesprochen wird, ist postuliert worden.
