McCormick Tractors International Limited ist ein englischer Traktorhersteller. Das 2001 von der ARGO-Gruppe gegründete Unternehmen beruft sich auf die Tradition der Marke McCormick und der indirekten Vorgängerunternehmen McCormick Harvesting Machine Company und International Harvester.
Geschichte
Die Marke McCormick entstand aus dem 1856 gegründeten Unternehmen McCormick Harvesting Machine Company, das 1902 in dem Nachfolgeunternehmen International Harvester aufging, welches die Marke ebenfalls weiterführte. Nachdem International Harvesting die Landwirtschaftssparte 1985 an die Case-Sparte von Tenneco verkaufte, wurde die Marke McCormick eingestellt. Durch Auflagen der EU-Regulierungsbehörde war Case, aufgrund der Fusion mit New Holland zu CNH Global, gezwungen das Werk Doncaster zu veräußern. 2000 übernahm die italienische ARGO-Gruppe das Werk, sowie die Markenrechte an McCormick. 2001 wurde McCormick Tractors International gegründet und erwirbt ein weiteres Werk in St. Dizier, wodurch die McCormick über 1100 Mitarbeiter zählt.
2002 wurde als deutscher Vertrieb die McCormick GmbH Haar bei München gegründet, die 2005 auf das Firmengelände der Fella-Werke (ebenfalls ARGO-Gruppe) in Feucht bei Nürnberg umzog. Seit 2006 firmiert die Deutschland-Niederlassung als Argo GmbH.
